Dr Patricia Gutierrez is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with a strong commitment to the early detection and management of skin cancer. She brings extensive experience in skin cancer diagnosis, surgical excisions, and repairs, as well as conservative and non-surgical treatment options. Her expertise includes the use of flaps and grafts for the repair of skin cancer defects, with experience gained in North Qld, known for the highest skin cancer rates in the world.
Dr Patricia has a particular interest in supporting the skin health of older adults and is dedicated to a patient-centred approach. She actively encourages her patients to participate in decisions regarding their treatment and prevention strategies, ensuring personalised and collaborative care.
She obtained her MBBS in Peru before completing specialist training in General Practice in Australia. Dr Patricia further advanced her expertise through training with the Skin Cancer College Australasia, where she achieved accreditation in skin cancer medicine. She has gained broad clinical experience working across public hospitals and general practices, including in Townsville. Dr Patricia enjoys furthering her education through weekend skin cancer courses and conferences.
