Melanoma Scan first started in 2001 when the Director Dr Paul Annells saw a need for clinics on the North-Side of Brisbane with a specific focus on Skin Cancer. The first clinic to open was the Mitchelton clinic  and then in 2003 the Toombul clinic opened.The latest clinic in Warner has now opened in January 2019

Both clinics are proud to offer the latest in skin cancer imaging technology with 10 doctors who have a special interest skin cancer and associated conditions.

Dr Paul Annells

Dr Paul Annells received his bachelor of medicine and surgery from Flinders University in South Australia in 1993, and gained recognition as a fellow of the College of General Practitioners in 2000. He completed his Master of Medicine in Skin Cancer in 2011.

Dr Jack Tsai

Dr. Jack Tsai graduated with a medical degree from the University of Queensland in 2007.

Dr Ala Melat-Rad

Dr Ala Melat-Rad graduated as a doctor in medicine and surgery in 2000. He gained his Fellowship of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2008. Dr Ala Melat-Rad is an accredited doctor with Skin Cancer College of Australasia. He was awarded a Master of Medicine in the Field of Skin Cancer from The University of Queensland in 2012.

Dr Dao Vo

Dr Dao Vo began working with Melanoma Scan Toombul in 2009, where she gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, and has worked since then in a rural setting where she gained further experience in skin cancer medicine.  During this time she completed her requirements to gain recognition as a Fellow of the College of General Practitioners.

Dr Kate Crilly

Dr Kate Crilly has been working at Melanoma Scan in 2010.  She holds a Masters of Medicine (Skin Cancer) awarded by the University of Queensland.  She is also an Accredited Member of the Skin Cancer College Australia and is a member of the International Dermoscopy Society.

Dr Donna Westbrook

Dr Donna Westbrook joins us from our Mitchelton location. Dr Donna Westbrook joined Melanoma Scan in 2010.

Dr Carmen Gutierrez

Dr Carmen Gutierrez joined Melanoma Scan in 2010 and since commencing work in skin cancer has completed a Masters Degree in Skin Cancer Medicine from the University of Queensland. Carmen aims to provide a comprehensive and caring approach to skin cancer medicine.
